So you want to know about me, huh? Well, I'm a writer and author of three books, two ebooks, and hundreds of articles, mostly on the confluence of politics and religion. I've struggled most of my life with depression and anxiety, but somehow managed to keep moving forward.

Things changed around 2017. I had a carotid artery aneurysm and Donald Trump was elected into office. There probably wasn't a correlation.

Shortly after the COVID pandemic hit, I began spiraling. I was unable to focus on work, relationships, or basic daily activities. I was plagued with suicidal ideations with fewer and fewer reprieves. I begged my husband to let me die. He agreed. But only under the circumstance that I try every treatment available to stay alive.

At my husband's suggestion, I began documenting this journey. I've taken note of how my depression has impacted him and our relationship. I've noted what's helped us and what hasn't. I've tried different medications, treatments, and hallucinogens. I've read articles, books, and peer-reviewed brain studies to figure out what causes depression, what works to relieve depression, and how to live with depression when you don't even want to live without it.

So, that's what there is to know about the guy behind the blog. Thanks for reading.
